AN INTRODUCTION TO ABEROUTDOORS
Aberoutdoors: ‘Adventure Consultancy’ moved into the old Marina Office in Aberystwyth Marina in July 2019 to add a new venue to its 30 years of experience. In March of 2020 the plan was to launch the new location under a more ‘local’ brand name of Aberoutdoors to reflect the business plans specific to the area. Aberoutdoors was set to launch with new stock and an exciting range of courses and activities but with the Covid restrictions in place the business has sadly has spent much of 2020 closed with limited business opportunities.
With the support of ‘The Marine Group’ however, Aberoutdoors is now set to relaunch in 2021 with a full range of land and water based skills courses.
Aberoutdoors is a recognised national training centre for:
- Powerboating
- Canoeing/kayaking
- Stand Up Paddle Boarding
- First Aid
- Mountain & Hill Skills.
In addition to the training on offer, Aberoutdoors provides:
- Equipment Hire – including Sit on Top Kayaks and SUP’s.
- Equipment Sales.
- Boat Rides – due to start in 2020 from the marina and the newly rebuilt jetty on the promenade.
- Advice and Support – whether it’s what kit to buy, courses to go on, or where to go to do activities – they offer a drop in service to share their wealth of experience.
It’s base in Aberystwyth Marina will also add a new location for Adventure Consultancy’s existing range of internationally certified rescue courses for the emergency services and professional rescue teams.

- Did you know that Richard Hammond did his powerboat training out of Aberystwyth Marina and James May out of Cardiff Marina both at ‘The Marine Group’ locations in preparation for their ‘The Grand Tour Special’ taking boats along the Mekong?
- Adventure Consultancy / Aberoutdoors Owner Ant has 30 years’ experience as an expedition expert and was the boat safety advisor for the Vietnam special as well as the expedition expert for the new Madagascar special.
- A very special 31ft, 850hp Well craft Scarab as used on Miami vice and The Grand Tour is preparing for its spring 2021 appearance in Aberystwyth.
