Job Description

Reporting directly to our Director of Operations, as our Group Health & Safety Officer, your role with be to provide advice and support to our department managers across our 6 sites to ensure all relevant Health & Safety regulations and best practices are followed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out group audits, site inspections, method statements and risk assessments as required by department managers
  • Outlining to department managers necessary actions and improvements required by the above
  • Providing advice and support on all legislation, regulations, and new policies across the Group
  • Ensuring all Health & Safety systems and records are being kept up to date across the Group
  • Providing support to department managers for managing accident and incident investigations records
  • Designing and delivering bespoke training to all levels of the business including toolbox talks
  • Leading on Health & Safety award submissions for accreditations and tenders
  • Leading on ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications


You will need to hold the minimum of a NEBOSH Certificate, but ideally the NEBOSH Diploma along with membership of IOSH. Having experience in a similar role in a construction or a manual/fabrication setting would be advantageous. We are looking for someone who is a great communicator who can demonstrate a real understanding of implementing Health & Safety policies in a practical setting with a flexible approach to engage, lead and coach employees across the Group. You will be required to work collaboratively with both department managers and our external H&S consultant.


Working hours

This is a part time role 3 days a week 8.30am to 4.30pm (working days to be agreed to suit both candidate and the company).The role will require regular travel between our sites in Wales and North Somerset with an office base in one of the sites dependent on location of candidate.


Part Time: 3 days per week

Location: Based in Cardiff with travel to other sites (Burry Port, Aberystwyth, Port Dinorwic, Watchet)

Salary: £30k- £35k pro rata, dependent on experience
