Who are we?

The Marine & Property Group Ltd is a leading marine business with a large portfolio of businesses including property, marinas, marine services, power systems and harbour management.

One of our newest offerings is “dredging”; which is a process that removes silt from the seabed material to increase the water depth for navigation or infrastructure projects. Three important members of our team are our three water injection dredging vessels: CMS Innovation (11.5 tonnes), CMS Seaka (30 tonnes) and CMS Doonhamer (55 tonnes) that we own, run and maintain in house.

We’re so proud of them and it is an area that we love telling people about. No really, somebody stop me. You can read more about it here Dredging – The Marine Group

2022 is going to be an exciting year for us as we hope our dredgers will be out doing their thing as much as possible. 2022 will be lived by the motto “Have Dredgers, will dredge!” We’d love you to come onboard with us.

Each dredger has a skipper and a crew member. Their working hours are determined by nature and the tides. Sometimes we might ask them to do additional work at one of our marinas.

About You

This is a growing part of our business and we are looking for someone who is excited for the challenge and eager to build it with us.

You will love the boat life, being out in all weathers and being hands on with all jobs that need doing. You’ll know your way around a boat and have experienced most of the common things that might come up. You’ll be prepared for the varied hours that Mother Nature decides.

You’ll be ready and able to get started on Day One by having significant vessel experience including handling in tight areas, great diesel engine and pump system knowledge and already holding a Yacht Master with commercial endorsement.

You’ll be passionate about your responsibility for keeping the crew and vessel safe and well maintained.

Your enthusiasm in this area will be contagious, you’ll love delegating and developing your crew so that they have the potential to become skippers themselves.

We’re excited to learn from you about this as much as we’ll provide you with everything you need to do it.

You’ll report to our Contracts Manager who you can discuss potential bids and tenders and then work with to turn those into new business opportunities and contracts that will continue the growth of our dredging business area.

We have industry-leading Marina Managers who you can collaborate with on working schedules, additional work for the team, local knowledge and so on.

We have standalone HR and Health and Safety Officers who are ready to work with you on developing your crew and keeping them safe on the water.
