This August Bank Holiday, Cardiff Bay hosts the Cardiff Harbour Festival and the P1 Welsh Grand Prix of the Sea, offering a fantastic weekend of family entertainment both on and off the shore.

The P1 fleet of powerboats and jet skis will serve up a feast of fast, furious and free to watch race action, and there will be jet ski freestyle displays on both days.

Back on land, it is anchors aweigh as a cornucopia of comedic characters bring maritime mayhem to The Bay from 11am to 5.30pm. A variety of nautical-themed street entertainers will amuse the crowds with Sunday’s highlights including a pair of beautiful stripey stilt walking Lion fish, a madcap duo and their dry-land water-skiing act, a two meter sea mammal who flaps her way through the crowds, and a fishy pair of sales men called the Fairly Fresh Fish.

Monday’s entertainment acts include; The Pirates with their scurvy antics, Able Mable with her warming sense of humour that shines through and Ian Marchant who has charmed and amazed audiences around the world with his tricks to name but a few.

Both days will also have live music from The Bucket Band, Screamin Miss Jackson and the Slap Your Mama Big Band and The Box Band and lots of family entertainment at the Vueling Cardiff Bay Beach, including new exciting seaside rides a sandy beach and shallow water play area.
