During the lockdown period, our team have been very busy working on a number of projects across our sites to further develop the services we have to offer our berth-holders.

thank-you-2204270_640Thank you!
Firstly, we’d like to say a huge thank you to our berth holders for your support and understanding during this difficult time. We appreciate that not being able to access your boats during the lockdown period has been frustrating. However, please rest assured our staff have been keeping an eye on them, carrying out regular checks and continue to work hard to maintain the pontoons and are delighted to welcome you back to the marinas we have been able to open. We are in regular contact with Ceredigion Council and will open up Aberystwyth Marina as soon as they allow us.

We’d also like to thank you for following the new regulations that are in place to allow our marinas to operate in the current climate and appreciate your continued support of these guidelines.

PD toilets 2New washrooms in Port Dinorwic

We are delighted to announce that the work on upgrading the washrooms at Port Dinorwic Marina is nearly complete. Our builders and technical team worked hard during the lockdown period to ensure the work could continue safely. Careful sequencing of trades to reduce numbers on site at any one time, allowed them to maintain social distancing. The modern toilet and shower facilities have been designed in a very similar style to our washrooms in Cardiff and Aberystwyth to ensure they meet our brand standards.

There is one large disabled washroom which will also service Swellies Cafe and the ladies and gents have been completely reconfigured to make better use of the space. The upgrade works have extended out to the entrance to greatly improve this area and create a modern reception.

Port Dinorwic Marina Manager, Ged Tyrer said: “We are all really excited about opening these upgraded berth holder facilities in the next few weeks. We’d like to thank berth-holders and local residents for their patience while the work was undertaken. We are delighted that these are nearly ready for berth-holders to use in time for the remainder of the season. They are a huge improvement on the previous facilities and represent the high standards we aim for across our sites.”

To ensure our brand standards are met in each of our locations, we will shortly be submitting the planning application for the former RNLI building at Burry Port Marina to create brand new landside facilities for berth-holders to enjoy. The Marina Office is currently located in the building and the updated plans will still see the creation of a new marina office, laundry room, male and female washrooms, office space for rent and a coffee shop with views over the marina. The design has evolved to ensure the preservation of the original historical building, while creating an iconic waterside destination. Focus has been given on the external materials to ensure the building will weather well overtime and make the most of the position overlooking the marina.
